LACTAID® was founded by Alan E. Kligerman, a third-generation dairyman who got his start in the business of delivering milk to customers in Atlantic City. During his routes, Alan discovered that not everyone could enjoy his family’s delicious products due to their lactose sensitivity. Life without dairy? Alan wouldn’t stand for it.
So, Alan studied dairy science at Cornell and after graduating, founded LACTAID® in 1974. At long last, those sensitive to the lactose in dairy had a delicious solution.
